Kersey Chamber of Commerce Meeting
Dec. 8, 2011
 
The Kersey Chamber of Commerce meeting was called to order by David Sappington at 6:35 p.m. at The Kersey Senior Center. Those in attendance were: Sandie Cantrell, United Way of Weld County, Pat Cantrell, Good Neighbor Seed & Supply, Sarah Jones, Work at Home United, Jana Gettman, Kersey Recreation, Dr. Mark Powell, DVM, Laura Marrs, 1st National Bank, David Sappington, TD Enterprises, LLC, Teresa Sappington, Send Out Cards
 
Laura presented the Treasurer's Report. The Operating Account has a balance of $360.74 and the Bingo Account has a balance of $1,287.73 which brings the combined total to $1,648.47. Jana made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report and Glenn seconded the motion.
 
Bingo proceeds. Envirotech is giving gift certificates to Sprouts. The Kersey Chamber will give $50 in gift cards to Wal-Mart. 176 kids will receive gifts from Santa Cops. Pat made a motion to give 15 gift cards to Wal-Mart and it was seconded by Sarah. Sarah will check with the school to see if we can get gift cards through the school. The Chamber will purchase Christmas cards to put the gift cards in and will deliver them next week.
 
Platte Valley High School National Honor Society has requested the use of the bingo game and license on Dec. 17.
 
The Kersey light parade is on Saturday, Dec. 10. The Chamber will use Sarah's vehicle and trailer. We need a generator for lights on the trailer. The Chamber will purchase candy canes to be thrown during the parade. Everyone riding on the trailer needs to bring a lawn chair.
 
The meeting was adjourned at 6:52 p.m.

The Kersey Chamber of Commerce meeting was called to order by David Sappington at 7:05 a.m. at The Kersey Cafe.. Those in attendance were: Sandie Cantrell, United Way of Weld County, Pat Cantrell, Good Neighbor Seed & Supply, Sarah Jones, Work at Home United, Laura Marrs, 1st National Bank, Dennis Jones, Pastor - Kersey Community Church, David Sappington, TD Enterprises, LLC, Teresa Sappington, Send Out Cards
 
Sarah Jones gave her presentation on her business, United Work at Home. She talked about the benefits of all Melaleuca household and health products.
 
A motion was made by Sarah to approve the Sept. 8, 2011 meeting minutes and it was seconded by Laura.
 
Laura presented the Treasurer's Report. The Operating Account has a balance of $856.10 and the Bingo Account $641.67 which brings the combined total to $1,497.77. Sandie made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report and Sarah seconded the motion.
 
It was decided that the extra Kersey Day bags would be given to the school to hand out.
 
David will talk to Kris Bruntz about where you will be directed when trying to access the new Kersey Chamber website.
 
The sign committee met with Colin Mathis of Evolution Designs to finalize the sign design. There was some discussion as to how to best utilize the sheet of material, 4'x8', that we would be purchasing from Evolution Designs. Laura will talk to Colin about our options.
 
Officer elections are coming up and it was suggested that we do the voting online. If members know of someone they would like to nominate, please do so as soon as possible by contacting Sandie Cantrell.
 
David will talk to Pat Carey about the Chamber helping with the Kersey Santa Cops program.
 
Sandie suggested that the Kersey Chamber have a potluck on Dec. 8, 2011 for Chamber members. Pastor Dennis Jones will confirm that the church would be available to host the potluck that night. The potluck would be at 6:30 p.m. Sandie will be in charge of arrangements.
 
It was decided that the post office key should be held by a Kersey Chamber officer. The key will go to Laura Marrs, Treasurer.
 
A motion was made by Sarah to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Sandie. The meeting was adjourned at 8:02 a.m.
